I just want the old incandescent bulbs back.

I managed to buy some recently. Every third day one explodes...

Smart meter on your home?

Vxi7's avatar

No, it is a dumb one but I have a different suspicion that the electricians did a screw up when they built the house.

This was a warm read will use for my children homeschooling.

Great information! We only used incandescent bulbs in our home.

Donna - where do you purchase your lighting products?

Donna Anne's avatar

Hi San, when I first heard incandescent bulbs would be banned I bought a big box of them and still haven't used them up yet. I've also bought some since then from Chromalux full-spectrum lamps. Good company and beautiful incandescent bulbs. https://healthlighting.com/collections/chromalux-full-spectrum-incandescent-bulbs

We are only using incandescent bulbs in our home.

We too are using Chromalux bulbs and really like them. I hope the tariffs won’t restrict them!.

Do you know that you just blessed me? The science behind these lights is so awesome. Just think about that The detailed and thorough explanation you gave I can’t help but fall down on my knees and worship the Creator of heaven and earth, the sun , the moon and the stars. May He return to you ten times more, may He bless your work, may your cup runneth over. So be it.

1. All our nightlights are amber C25 bulbs.

2. Incandescents are also much more forgiving on houses with poor electrical quality, that kills LEDs fast and can be expensive or impossible to improve.

3. Can I do all my lightbulb shopping at the pet store? What are the carveouts for animal care? Maybe we just need bulbs marketed for animal health... Like buying raw milk marketed for pets.

Thank you for the article and your work that you do. I was already very skeptical and suspicious of this push to LEDs, but I was not aware of how warm light is healthier and natural, so thank you for explaining.

love this! the best option today is incandescent, that's all i use in my house after sunset.

i'm not a fan of all these $30+ LED's coming out. Ridiculously priced, nobody should have to pay this much to live a circadian-friendly lifestyle. Even if these amber + infrared LEDs were the same price as incandescent, i would still choose incandescent for their natural/fire-like properties and much more IR output. energy efficiency never crosses my mind because I only use them a few hours each night.

Fantastic article. I have quite a few incandescent Edison bulbs in my house and in 4 years not a single one has gone out.

Loved this read! Such great info. I cringe to think that when the push for LEDs first began, we switched all our bulbs to the brightest daylight ones we could find.

Great share, Tristan.

I really feel for people who do not live outside most hours of the day.

I pray the incandescent 40W appliance bulbs remain available. My lava lites run beautifully this way and my studio remains cozy and attractive when they’re actively blobbing away!

thanks, very good info.

i thought we were all on renewable now so using more energy is less of an issue.

, i noticed we saved kWh but ended up paying double each month so we’re all played.

I first read LED as Light Emitting Dildo. I obviously haven’t had my morning coffee yet.
